10.) “A friend is a person with whom I may be sincere. Before him I may think aloud. I am arrived at last in the presence of a man so real and equal, that I may drop even those undermost garments of dissimulation, courtesy, and second thought, which men never put off, and may deal with him with the simplicity and wholeness with which one chemical atom meets another.”

“I can’t do this.” Often times we are confronted with self-doubt when we face a difficult or challenging task. But more often than not it turns out that we are capable of addressing the issue, even though we previously thought we couldn’t. For this reason, it is important to not allow our own insecurities from preventing the pursuit of our dreams. Reframe situations like this by telling yourself that “I can make it, practice makes perfect.” How else should we grow and advance if we are not willing to face challenging situations and tasks?
Often times your competition seems to be larger-than-life, more sophisticated and more experienced than you. But it isn’t the first time that a small David managed to compete successfully with a much larger Goliath. If you believe in your own strength and combine this attitude with a laser-sharp determination to do whatever it takes, then you will be able to challenge your competitors.
It’s long since been known that helping others can be a source of joy. What many people overlook, however, is that this help doesn’t have to be in the form of some grand gesture. Because we’re social creatures who constantly take cues from those around us about how to feel, smiling is truly infectious and simply sharing your smile with those around you.
38. Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do.
A smile is very powerful because it has the ability to melt the coldest hearts. No amount of words can describe the emotions or feelings that a simple smile on someone’s face. Smile is so powerful because it can make a person do anything. A parent can do anything to make their children smile. A lover can give up everything they have in life just to see their loved ones smiling. One innocent smile can erase a lifetime of pain. A smile is so powerful that it can pull a person out of complete darkness to shining bright light within minutes. Sometimes only one smile is enough to save someone. Smiles are precious and should be protected.

“Although time seems to fly, it never travels faster than one day at a time. Each day is a new opportunity to live your life to the fullest. In each waking day, you will find scores of blessing and opportunities for positive change. Do not let your today be stolen by the unchangeable past or the indefinite future! Today is new day ! Good Morning ” – Steve Maraboli

It is said: “A friend in need is a friend indeed”. Have you just broken up with your boyfriend/ girlfriend? Don’t worry, your bestie already knows how to cheer you up. Did you go a little bit wild at the office party last night? Be sure, that all the embarrassing moments have been downloaded on YouTube by your humble servant. But no matter what you do, you can be sure that your pal will always stand by your side. Did you know that there’s even National Best Friends Day which is celebrated on June 8th? Of course, it doesn’t mean that this is the only day in a calendar to say kind words to your mate.
White people can’t dance. I’m not being racist; it’s true. Just like when white people say black people have big lips, it’s not racist; it’s true. Black people have big lips, white people can’t dance. Some brothers will be in the club and white people are like, “What are those niggers doing in here?” They watchin’ y’all dance. And they’re like, “Look at these crazy muthaf***as.” Y’all be stepping on people’s feet and hitting one another. Eddie Murphy

While many of these funny quotes are attributed to famous people, don’t overlook the anonymous and unknown entries. They can provide just as much laughter, even though nobody took credit for them. For example, who doesn’t love: “When I die, I want to go peacefully like my grandfather did, in his sleep—not screaming, like the passengers in his car.”

Good morning is a term used to welcome or to greet someone in the hours before noon of each day. Good morning is a salutation, or an expression of good will, and in its literal sense means to wish one a good beginning of their day. The morning period of each day usually consists of a person waking up, preparing for their day, and then actively starting and pursuing their day. So to wish someone a good morning would be to wish them a “Good luck” of sorts in their endeavors for the day. Good morning is a salutation that has been used for centuries on end in the English language. It is also a salutation that is expressed in many other languages as well including but not limited to Spanish, Russian, German, French, and many others. Wishing someone a good morning is seen as a polite greeting, and can help brighten anyone’s day if it said with a small bit of meaning, and a smile.
Your emotional intelligence is your capability to identify, use, understand, and manage your emotions on a positive way to relieve stress, communicate in an effective manner, empathize with those around you, overcome daily challenges, and defuse conflicts. It can impact many different aspects of your life, such as your behavior and how you interact with those around you. Salma Stockdale, Communication Skills
Smiling can help you attract the right relationships and can help reinforce the ones you have. Everybody enjoys a social atmosphere where there is positive and open body language. Smiling encourages trust in relationships and makes those around us more comfortable. Because it brings good feelings to yourself and to others, it’s a great personality trait to possess, and will take you a long way!
In addition to all these physiological benefits, and likely as a result of them, it seems that smiling may also be a significant predictor of life expectancy. In a 2010 study out of Wayne State University, researchers found that by looking at the intensity of smiles in old photographs, they were able to correlate our facial expressions with longevity. People that had bigger smiles were more likely to have lived to a greater age!
Actually, I love Yip Man’s quote (is it just me or does “Yip Man” sound like a name for a bizarre kind of superhero?). We tend to eat and drink, taking the sustenance for granted. Half the time, we are not even fully aware that we are eating or drinking, absorbed in the TV instead. Yip Man is saying “This is important. Pay attention. The water does not have to be here yet here it is.” He is making us aware in order to fully experience drinking.
67.) “Some of the biggest challenges in relationships come from the fact that most people enter a relationship in order to get something: they’re trying to find someone who’s going to make them feel good. In reality, the only way a relationship will last is if you see your relationship as a place that you go to give, and not a place that you go to take.”
