Happiness is a misunderstood, often misquoted commodity. To be loved is to be happy, to be an artist is to be happy, to walk in a park alone with your thoughts is to be happy. Happiness is how you define it. Many people are robbed of their happiness for they often try to follow someone else’s definition of it. It’s a rare commodity today, one that the world is scrambling to own. Be grateful for your happiness.
“When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives mean the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares.”
At the end of every tunnel, there is a light somewhere, a light of hope and reason, and a light to guide us to the safety from the dark, to outstretched hands there. These hands hold out friendship, something everyone needs, for friendship brings a wealth much more than anything money can buy, for without this wealth, many of us would just shrivel up and die. Inspirational indeed. I’m a 17-year-old student and struggling through my final exams that will determine whether or not I get into university. All the quotes are helpful, it gives one hope when hope is perched at the window about to leave. I made a lot of mistakes with regards to studying, but have come to the realization that none of that matters, all that does matter is the present moment and whether we to choose to say yes or no, every moment is an opportunity. Here are a few quotes to add to this collection:
You’ve lived so long, you’ve come so far. You made it despite heartbreaks and pain, though disappointment and failure. Yet here you are, alive, motivated and rearing to go. Remember to be grateful to whatever is giving you the will to drag yourself out of bed and face the world. Be it your motivation, your goals, your God, whatever, be grateful for the courage.
Best friends send a “check in-text” to see if you need an excuse to end your date early.  They show up with seven-up and movies when you are sick, and they don’t give up shopping until you have found the perfect wedding dress.  True friends hang out after your party and help you clean up and do the dishes.  They show up with meals after your baby is born, and they offer to take your toddler to the park when they know you need a break.
