I would say laughter is the best medicine. But it’s more than that. It’s an entire regime of antibiotics and steroids. Laughter brings the swelling down on our national psyche, and then applies an antibiotic cream. You gotta keep it away from your eyes… Obviously, it’s a challenge to make light of the darkness but, um, it’s better than crying about it. Stephen Colbert

Just before they go to sleep, many people have this habit of thinking how their day went, what was important after all, and what they should remember on the following day. Then, when the next day begins, what we have found out about our lives  is related to eternal human values: kindness matters, the beauty of all living things is a compass showing towards happiness, and a positive view is essential to a better life.
34. “It was after I first began to uplift my thoughts a bit that my cravings for junk food started to dissipate. I did not connect the two at that time. First, I simply noticed that I didn’t need to sleep so much. It took a while before I realized that in addition to my improved energy level, there was a direct correlation between chewing on mental garbage and putting garbage in my mouth.” ― Holly Mosier

It makes you wonder how many famous men had not-so-famous women behind them getting things done. Men are often viewed as the movers and shakers of the world, but women have a knack of getting things done as well, and this is the basis of her quote. She is entirely self-made, which makes her a great role model for young women that want to earn a lot of money and are starting out with little.
When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving much advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a gentle and tender hand. The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness, that is a friend who cares. Henri Nouwen
