It’s easy to forget what an amazing gift life really is. Our lives are nothing but a cosmic blink. Even our seemingly all-encompassing world is just tiny blue dot circling an average sized star spiraling around a galaxy of 200-400 billion stars, which itself is just one galaxy among billions more. Yet for one brief moment, we get to experience the wonders of existence, of consciousness.

Actually, I love Yip Man’s quote (is it just me or does “Yip Man” sound like a name for a bizarre kind of superhero?). We tend to eat and drink, taking the sustenance for granted. Half the time, we are not even fully aware that we are eating or drinking, absorbed in the TV instead. Yip Man is saying “This is important. Pay attention. The water does not have to be here yet here it is.” He is making us aware in order to fully experience drinking.
What can possibly be more pleasant and inspiring than hearing the words of love in the mornings. When you know that there’s a shoulder to lean on, the ears that can listen to all of your complaints, the hands that hug you tight no matter what. – C.S LewisI will admit, on a Monday morning, before I have had my cup of coffee, the incessantly positive person who always seems to be “up” can be a little big annoying to my sensibilities. I am switching from weekend to work-week mindset and a little bit grumpy about it.But I think the only reason I may get grumpy in that situation is because I am a bit jealous of the abundance of positivity they are able to bring forth at 8:15 am on a monday morning.Being positive in the workplace may take a little bit extra effort. Specifically if you are doing a job that you “have to do” because you need the money and not a job that you “love” to do regardless of pay.So here is my challenge: If you are annoyed at work at least try to grab one of these quotes about positivity at work and think about it once a day.
